ABOUT

Jazz Arts Project

MISSION

Jazz Arts Project presents, performs, educates and preserves the important legacy, influence and role of jazz music in all its forms, from classic to contemporary, for the enrichment of diverse local, regional, and statewide constituencies through collaborative community outreach efforts, high quality professional performances, as well as educational workshops, and other programs for youth.

Our mission is to preserve, promote, and perpetuate the American musical art form known as jazz; by producing performances of the highest quality, creating educational programs about jazz and its history, and to serve as an advocate by continuing efforts to raise awareness of the art form in the public eye through newspaper articles, lectures workshops and publications; and by fostering and nurturing the potential and the rising talent of young students who display an interest in jazz.

For the better part of two decades Jazz Arts Project has been a leading force in honoring, preserving, presenting and helping to insure the future of America’s music; Jazz.  We are proud to report that our year-round concert presentations and annual events also help us to fund unique music education programs for area youth with an emphasis on those from at-risk and under served communities.

Jazz Arts Project is a non-profit, 501(c) 3, professional presenting organization which produces 25 to 30 events each year from intimate jazz cafe nights through large scale events at concert halls, as well as transformative educational workshops, training programs, specialized music camps and other special programs for area youth.
