"A GREAT DAY IN HARLEM"
With jazz historian Joe Lang; a discussion and a showing of the critically acclaimed documentary with commentary and discussion to follow.  A Great Day In Harlem is an hour long documentary film that brings to life a remarkable moment in the history of jazz-a moment in which dozens of America's jazz legends unexpectedly gathered together for a photograph that would become emblematic of the golden age of jazz.

"FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE"
Jazz Arts Project's special friend and supporter Boris Shafranov along with Russian born jazz trumpet artist Valery Ponomarev tell of the long love affair the Russian people have had with jazz. Stories about living in Russia and of visits from American jazz greats such as Benny Goodman who inspired countless Russian jazz musicians. Video clips and recordings of many celebrated jazz artists.

Musician and jazz club owner Cecil Brooks III discusses great jazz clubs of the past and the trials and tribulations of owning and operating a jazz club in today's world.

"MARY LOU WILLIAMS"
THE FIRST LADY OF JAZZ
2010 marks the centennial of the birth of pianist, composer, arranger Mary Lou Williams. She has a place at the very top echelon of the jazz pantheon.  Among her few peers in the over half century she was active were Duke Ellington, Benny Carter and Sonny Blount, aka Sun Ra. Guest speaker for this event is Vincent Pelote from the Institute of Jazz Studies.

Summer Jazz Cafe'

This year the ever popular jazz cafe brings 5 weekends of world class jazz back to the Two River Theater. Each Friday and Saturday evening beginning July 10th through August 7th. Great jazz in an intimate cafe setting. This years line up to be announced but each year brings the best available jazz artists to Red Bank...Past performers have included Claudio Roditi, Dave Valentin, Warren Vache, Joe Lock, Jay Leonhard, Bucky Pizzarelli and Tony Desare among many others. This year we anticipate a full house each night so order your tickets early by calling or visiting the TRTC Box Office...
