Each summer the Jazz Arts Project presents a series of jazz concerts in an intimate cafe setting. 2010′s program was a smash hit, as we presented world-class artists Wayne Escoffery and Cecil Brooks III, Aaron Weinstein and Valerie Ponomarev.
- Aaron Weinstein in the middle of his duo performance with the great pianist Ted Firth. Aaron brought the house down with his stunning renditions of old standards and original material.
- The Great Valery Ponomarev plays a solo. Valery is an alumnus of Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers. His playing evokes memories of Clifford Brown and Freddie Hubbard, and his show was outrageously entertaining.
- Marlene VerPlanck is an extremely talented vocalist whose singing wowed the crowd.
- The great tenorist Wayne Escoffery played two sets of originals with an allstar cast of musicians. We cant wait to hear the record!
