As many of you know, many of our events are free and open to the public or produced at an affordable cost to encourage equity and broad access throughout our communtiy. A few times a year we produce a fundraising concert event where we as for your support to continue these programs. Now is the Time... to come together again and support our ive world-class music performances and transformative education programs. As is our tradition, the concert features a world-class jazz artist performing alongside our own Jazz Arts Academy students. We have named this concept as "Legends and Lions" where a legendary musician pairs with and mentors the lions (students) in the art of jazz.
In 2024, we are hosting jazz legend Wycliffe Gordon & Friends along with our faculty and 16 students from the Jazz Arts Academy

This event will feature a “Legends & Lions” style performance with jazz legend, Wycliffe Gordon & Friends, performing alongside the Jazz Arts Academy students a.k.a. the “Lions.” The students will alternate tunes and trade solos, showcasing the music skills they have honed during their Fall Semester at Jazz Arts Academy.
As the premier jazz education program in the region, Jazz Arts Academy offers a jazz education that promotes self expression and develops teamwork and a lasting respect for others. Our jazz education focuses on providing students the tools and skills to navigate planned and improvised musical situations. These skills are not easy to cultivate and we are so proud of our students’ hard work and dedication. Jazz Arts Academy prides ourselves on helping our students become not only well-rounded musicians, but also well-rounded people.
Jazz Arts Project offers need-based financial assistance to those families who qualify.
