Celebrating Count Basie's Legacy, this Sunday afternoon at Johnny Jazz Park in Red Bank

Red Bank, NJ — August 15, 2023 — Jazz enthusiasts and music lovers are in for a treat as the non-profit organization Jazz Arts Project proudly announces the grand finale of the 2023 "Summer o Jazz" season. The event will take place on Sunday, August 20th, at the iconic Johnny Jazz Park in Red Bank.

Jazz Arts Artistic Director, Joe Muccioli said "This afternoon festival is a tribute to one of Red Bank's most cherished sons, the legendary William "Count" Basie, and is perfectly timed to celebrate his upcoming birthday. We are thrilled to be partnering with Red Bank Parks and Recreation, the Basie 365 west side committee and the T Thomas Fortune Cultural Center to bring this great music to the community. The festivities will commence at 1:00 PM, a nod to the timeless Basie composition "One O'Clock Jump." The event promises an immersive experience with multiple bands, delectable food trucks, and delightful surprises, making it a perfect outing for the entire family. We invite the community to join us in commemorating this iconic figure in the world of jazz. It's a day of music, joy, and togetherness that you won't want to miss!"
